The Whetstone Report is a periodic newsletter for law enforcement, military personnel, private contractors and whomever else in this peer group that might be interested in new tactics, techniques, tools and gear reviews. The goal of the Report is not to compete with other established tactical publications, but rather to fill in some holes they might leave open or to provide a platform by which the best material from multiple sources can be presented in one place. To that end we'll be reprinting articles and materials from such reputable sources as SWAT Magazine, Force Science News, The Negotiator, SWAT Digest, etc. We will augment these pieces with intel reports, officer safety briefs and of course the occasional article written by our own staff members.
The Whetstone Report is compiled and edited by Centurion Training Group cadre in partnership with the instructors of the Tactical Tracking Operations School (TTOS) and the other training organizations. In addition to tactical articles, training tips and whatnot, there will be occasional AARs and reviews of operations that went significantly right or wrong - and why. Of particular interest to our Combat Trackers and Tactical Trackers, the Whetstone Report will have the LINDATA feature (our tracker audience will know what that means), where operational successes of visual trackers, along with their lessons learned, will be forwarded for the further education and training of their peer group.
If our readers hear about one training opportunity they might otherwise have missed, see pictures of one new concealed weapon that hadn't made it into the squadroom, or learn about a single piece of kit that can help out over in the AOR, then we've been successful.
